Costuming

Image
Hello blog, this post goes over some basic details of character design to help give you guys an idea of the character's looks and feels. Angel Kennedy (Maya) : Black sneakers, black jeans, black t-shirt. This is just a simple youthful look that represents the characters age group and the black colors also portray that the teens are trying to be sneaky and mischievous. Jack Marley (Isaiah) : Black and white shoes, grey baggy jeans, black hoodie, skate board. This character will aim to fit a typical skateboarder archetype. Also in black for the same reasons as character 1.  Bob Retsu (Zach) : black dirty adidas slides, black sweatpants, black shirt/sweater with sleeves rolled up. This costume will try to portray a confident nature as this character will function as the "glue" of the group. Character 4/Entity (Kevin) : Dark figure, not going to be clearly visible. This figure will aim to evoke anxiousness, anticipation, and fear.

Preparing to film

Hey blog, for this point I'm going over some discussion with my group on how our filming process is going to go. My groups preparations for the film have had its challenges, We've easily created the main story where we were planning on all of us being actors, But we did run into a disagreement with one of our teammates not wanting to be on film. Here is a little breakdown of what we've done. Actors: Zachary Vassil, Maya Miller, Isaiah Banton (me)  Costumes: Zach (shoes, jeans, white t-shirt), Me (shoes, jeans, beanie, hoodie), Maya (shoes, jeans, sweater) Props: Evil camera, skateboard (brought by me) Locations: School, different classrooms, closet. Dates and times: after school hours/nighttime Scripts: We'll be breaking into school, so we don't get caught we run into a closet where we find an old camera. After using it something sinister appears before us. As it stalks us throughout the school we must find a way to get out (all the doors are locked). In the end t...

Opening Scene Moodboard

Image
Hello blog! For todays blog I'm going over some of the details of my film opening scene with a description and mood board. For this mood board I tried to capture the creepy and dark tone and vibe of our plot and setting. I also represent our characters such as the antagonist which will be a dark entity brought upon our group of teens after discovering an "evil camera". The setting will be after hours at a high school where our group of teens is somewhere they shouldn't be.

Hello blog!!! Back at it again with another banger blog where i review a couple videos. Enjoy! 1. Dare to Thrill Film Opening Daniel Garzon I believe although the clip does not need to discuss the whole plot of the movie, the clip could have elaborated on the plot a bit more in our opinion. However, giving little context does make the reaction of opening the trunk more significant or unexpected which adds value. The group executed the shots, angles, and lighting of the car extremely well using elements such as lowkey lighting which helped portray the idea that the friends were having fun driving around the city. The choice of music also fit well and supported the energetic and lively environment they were trying to portray. Focusing on the technical elements to a greater extent compared to dialogue is an idea we can extract to use for our clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=nYpjHCwRO6Q 2.
