Mood Board

Hey blog, this post will cover some mood boards I have made in an attempt to capture the essence of different settings. I will be showing my boards and also reviewing my thought process when finding the images and composing the boards, and why I did the things i did.

What choices did you make ? Why did you make these choices? What assumptions did you want the audience to make about your characters and how did you want them to respond to your locations.  DELETE THIS PART ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Fair: My main goal for this board was to capture the fun things you do at a carnival and the main reasons people go. This is why I included iconic carnival rides such as the ferris wheel and swing. I also included a staple carnival food funnel cake. I wanted the audience to receive a pleasant feeling as they were reminded of the fun times of the past.

Insane Asylum: With this board I wanted to make sure to capture a sort of creepy and unpleasant atmosphere. Thus I included many eerie images such as people in straight jackets and empty padded rooms and hallways, to give the audience a slightly uncomfortable feeling.

Early Childhood Classroom: I wanted to capture an accurate recollection of what my classrooms were like as a child. Which is why I included things such as a behavior chart and an alphabet hung up on a wall. I did this in order to get the audience to feel a hit of nostalgia and remembrance or longing for their past childhood.

Chemistry Lab: For this board while creating it there was much less emotional connection attached, my main goal was just to accurately represent and paint a good picture of a lab. This is why i included many things that are very common within labs such as lab coats and beakers. I wanted the audience to be reminded of a past chemistry class either in high school or college.

Overall, in most of these boards my main goals were to present an accurate picture and convey a feeling to the audience. This is what many directors try to do and accomplish when coming up with scenes and environments for movies.
